About Chris
Chris was born in the village of Bloxwich in the Borough of Walsall in the West Midlands.
He studied piano from an early age after making up his own melodies on the piano as a child but started composing seriously whilst at Queen Mary’s Grammar School in Walsall in the mid-1970s.
After a Classical Music honours degree from the University of Birmingham (UK), he then toured extensively across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, the USA and Canada.
Chris has worked with many well-known artistes including Sir Cliff Richard & Graham Kendrick in the UK and Sheila Walsh & Phil Keaggy in the USA and has performed at most of the largest venues across the UK, including the NEC (now Genting) Arena & Wembley Arena. He has even performed and sung his own songs at the Royal Albert Hall.
He has composed a large number of well-known modern hymns which appear in modern hymn books and are sung in churches all around the world. His work has appeared regularly on BBC Radio & TV as well as ITV.
Other notable achievements include composing theme music for TV shows, video programmes and co-editing music books for Hodder & Stoughton.
Chris also has qualifications in Radio Broadcasting and Journalism. He was breakfast show producer for former Radio 1 legend, David ‘Diddy’ Hamilton and local Birmingham star Les Ross at Saga 105.7FM in the West Midlands in the early 2000s.
