Christmas Piano Meditations

Following the initial success of the Piano Meditations album in 2016, Chris turned his hand to applying a similar style to some well-known Christmas songs.

We Three Kings was released just before Christmas in 2016 and became immediately very popular, It was played intensively on Chill radio in the run up to the festive season.

On the back of the release of the Piano Reflections album in 2017, Chris turned his compositional techniques to Silent Night - which was equally as well received as ‘We Three Kings’ and was again played regularly on Chill Radio alongside it in the run up to Christmas that year.

With the ultimate plan being to release an album of Christmas Piano Meditations at some point in the future, Chris released 2 tracks for Christmas 2018, Away in a Manger and Bleak Midwinter

Away in a Manger is a relaxed take on the children’s favourite and was heavily featured again by Chill Radio while Bleak Midwinter is more of a dark wintry landscape of cold and chill, being a darker take on the traditional words and music. Silent Night and Bleak Midwinter also appeared on BBC Radio over Christmas 2018.

2019 saw the release of Royal David’s City, another very popular carol arrangement. This again featured on the BBC that year along with We Three Kings & Away in a Manger.

In November 2020, Chris released O Little Town which was very well received and played on more than one occasion by the BBC.

Angels From the Realms of Glory received the treatment in 2021 and was released as Angel Realms and again featured on BBC Radio. It has received many thousands of streams on online platforms since release.

For 2022, Chris applied his talents to the carol Joy To The World. Within weeks of release this track was picked up by the UK national broadcaster, the BBC - it features as the headline track for one of their most popular Christmas Playlists

2023 sees Chris turn his attention to the popular Adolph Adam carol from the 19th Century, O Holy Night. Arguably the most played carol of the age, Chris’s rendition brings a new angle to this wonderful old French melody.
